He was the Champion in the World Cup Qualifying Grand Prix at the CSI-W Sol de Mayo (Buenos Aires- Argentina) in addition to other classifications, which led him to lead the South American League, with a view to the World Final Cup in the Netherlands in 2012. He traveled to the Panamerican Games with Omnie du Landais with the great hope of getting a place for the Olympic Games (London 2012), since the results that had been obtained suggested that this goal was achievable. But Omanie suffers an injury during air travel, arriving in Guadalajara.

Being based on the Rivera (Uruguay)-Santana do Livramento (Brazil) border, his activity in this period was developed mainly by participating in competitions of the Liga Hípica de la Frontera (which later became known as the International League), in National Championships held mostly in Montevideo and Closing Championships organized by the Carrasco Polo Club of Montevideo, obtaining numerous and important prizes.

Children South American Championship (Club Hípico Argentino, Buenos Aires, Argentina)
Despite not being his own horse at that time and having almost no training possibilities, he obtained with Soy del Sur the best score in the observational try-outs, obtaining 3 first places in a total of 5 tests.
Despite not having been able to go to this championship in the best conditions, since the horse was not his own, so there was not the required pairing for an event of this importance, he managed to be among the finalists, obtaining the best position of the Uruguayan team.

Team also made up of Constanza Tiscornia, Juan Martín Bosch and Rafael Rodríguez.
On this occasion, the Marcelo – Pamperito pairing could not have a better performance, since the latter suffered a double fissure as a result of an inconvenience on the trip to Porto Alegre that, unfortunately, was only detected in full competition. As a consequence of this injury, Pamperito has been out of sports activity ever since.
